2015 Wrap-up

As 2015 draws quickly to its conclusion, we at Annee 2CU Blues Band look back at a memorable year; yet at times tinged with sad events. We started off the year with the band reduced to just four members - Annee, Patrick, Toby and Tony.
At the end of 2014. Marc had left as both his parents' (in Tasmania) health had deteriorated and he felt he couldn't give his time to the band. Tim Biggs stepped into the band as the other guitarist in February.
The band had been asked on numerous occasions to produce a professional album and it was decided we would go into the studio in mid-May. Unfortunately, many incidents happened that delayed the recording. The recording was completed on 8 August.
In January, Annee damaged her leg and ended up having a meniscus operation in July.
In late April, Tony left to follow other ventures.  Tim took over Tony's playing roles. Fortunately, for the band Marc was available to play again. This was great as Marc is a very accomplished harmonica player and slide guitarist.
On August 8 we went into the Depot Recording Studios (Devonport, Auckland) at 10am; by 7pm we had completed the recordings. We decided that the songs would be recorded as a live performance.  It is really important to us that we sound like we do when we play live.
We are very proud of the amount of airplay we are receiving especially from USA, UK, Australia, Spain & the Netherlands. We have been informed by one of Italy's top Blues show hosts that we will be featured on his show through February.
Special thanks to Vera and Chris Hes (keep well Chris),  Ron Ryder, Bradley Saunders. Ian McKenzie, Ken Andersen, Lucas Campbell, Tony Corner, Don Chisholm,  Eddie Stuart, Doug Baker, John Guregian,  Cleve Baker, Josep Palmada, Pat Stone, Lannah Sawer-Diggins, Tony Nightingale and Deane Craw - you guys are fantastic.
Most of all we would like to thank all of you that have been there for us.

Look out for our news of our follow-up album which we hope to release by May 2016 (date to be confirmed in the New Year).

To You ALL
HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A FANTASTIC NEW YEAR. STAY SAFE, BE WELL AND ENJOY THE BLUES.

November Update

Just one month after the launch of our album A Twist of Blues and we are very pleased with its reception. Our music has been played on many terrestrial and internet radio stations. Highlights so far: being chosen as Album Spotlight Tonight on Sunday Night Blues with Phillip Ryan (WLEW 102.1 fm Bad Axe, Michigan, USA & KCOR); being recognised as one of the best current blues music on WEEKEND BLUES REVIEW with Ron Ryder on Classic Blues Radio Live 365 and having Heart Full of Soul being played on the Blues Corner (Tony Corner) as a dedication and then being contacted by the young lady. Finally all the other stations we would also like to thank but there is more to come. Please enjoy our music because without you, our audience, there would be no point.
